Our Mission
Our mission is to help business owners in the Sewing, Vacuum and Quilting space with our unique knowledge of Point of Sale, inventory management software. We exist as a company with the single goal of helping you thrive and be more productive. Whether that means being our customer and using Dragonfly POS or us helping you to find another solution that fits you better. We aren’t focused on sales and generating revenue (we believe revenue follows helping and showing caring concern for your customers). This is the only industry we will develop and sell (use a better word) Dragonfly POS in. We believe we can best serve others by being completely focused in just one area.
Robert Pirone
Robert was introduced to the sewing and quilting industry when he dated and married his wife, Melinda. Her family owned a 10,000 square foot location in Pasadena, CA called Bearly Stitching. Bearly stitching did sales and servicing of some of the largest brands (wanna know which ones, ask me sometime). Prior to marrying Melinda Robert worked in computer and software support at companies like The Walt Disney Company, NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory and Packard Bell computers. As the dutiful son-in-law, Robert helped to install and maintain the store’s Point of Sale software which was TRS at the time. He went on to get hired and work for JMM Software, the makers of TRS for a long time and is known in the industry for his knowledge of Quilting and Sewing stores. Robert’s wife went on to create her own Successful business called Sew Precious Creations which produced and sold project patterns with digitized embroidery designs, sewing workbooks and quilt patterns for use with 2 1/2” strip sets.
Craig BeNNETT
Craig
has a bachelor’s degree degree in Applied Mathematics, Engineering and Physics
and a Masters degree in Nuclear Engineering. Before creating Dragonfly, Craig spent his entire career working for Bechtel Corporation which specializes in Global
Engineering, Construction & Project Management. Craig has worked on
international projects as well as projects across the United States. He has spent
a number of years at Bechtel writing specialized software and doing software
project management. Craig is one of the smartest people you will ever meet
(according to Robert and his wife Julie). He brings an unparalleled passion to
design great data driven software. Craig has enthusiastically embraced the Sewing,
Vacuum and Quilting industry.
Why Dragonfly?
While working at Bechtel in software development Craig worked on a product which had a feature where you would drag the mouse and then let go and the software would take it from there or fly away on what it needed to do. Craig wanted to call it Drag and Fly but alas he was overruled. Since then, Craig has wanted to call a software project Drag and Fly and thus we adopted it for the name of our software, Dragonfly POS.
